https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=3D258322 Bug ID: 258322 Summary: audio/pulseaudio: Do not restore card/device volumes by default Product: Ports & Packages Version: Latest Hardware: Any OS: Any Status: New Severity: Affects Only Me Priority: --- Component: Individual Port(s) Assignee: desktop@FreeBSD.org Reporter: kevinz5000@gmail.com Assignee: desktop@FreeBSD.org Flags: maintainer-feedback?(desktop@FreeBSD.org) Created attachment 227717 --> https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/attachment.cgi?id=3D227717&action= =3Dedit Patch PulseAudio enables module-device-restore and module-card-restore, which load and store device and card volume settings, by default. On FreeBSD, this functionality is already handled by rc.d/mixer. Further, if PulseAudio is n= ot enabled on a system-wide basis, PulseAudio restores its own mixer settings = when an application needs it. As a result, module-device-restore and module-card-restore cause a jarring experience on FreeBSD. For example, playing a video in Firefox sometimes ca= uses the mixer volume to change suddenly as PulseAudio loads what it thinks were= the previous mixer settings. This patch changes the example default.pa to not load these modules by defa= ult. This has no affect on systems with PulseAudio already installed and configu= red. --=20 You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.=
