It's vrain dead because if the X server has more than 256 colors it core dumps. Wnoderful vendor software eh whta? In any case, what I want to do is run a 2nd X serer on my FreeBSD STABLE machine. This server I want to run in 8 bt mode, so that I can disply this broken client. Can I do this? If so how? Also I'm runing Gnome which is very color hungry, so short of creating a seperate user to login as when using this X sever, and using a lighter wieght environment for it (twm?), can anyone think of a way to prevent Gnome from sucking up all the limited colorspace when I log in to the X serer? Perhaps seting the DISPLAy on the remote machine to sya FreeBSDbox:1? -- "They that would give up essential liberty for temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety." -- Benjamin Franklin To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
