It seems the `CHS addressing destroy over 8GB disks after resume' problem.
Please try to set Bit 12 (LBA addressing) on wdc flags (see LINT or man 4 wd)
somethig like;

controller	wdc0	at isa? port "IO_WD1" bio irq 14 flags 0xf0fff0ff
(32bit + sleep hack + LBA + multi-sector)
