The BIOS of the PCs have a limitation: it cannot boot over the 1024 cylinder. This limitation also accures to the boot manager, which use the BIOS functions in the boot process. I don't know any boot manager which can boot over this limit. As I heard, version 5 of FreeBSD will know to boot over this 1024 limit.
