Anywhere :-) Mostly, you would "dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/da1" ; disklabel da1 auto ; disklable -e da1 #create 'a' partition# ; dd if=bootable.img of=/dev/da1a On sparc, you can easily boot from any partition, so you can dd it to a swap partition and do 'boot disk1:b'.
