as I explained a few days ago, MFS explodes because it synthesises a device vnode The synthesized vnode is someohow confused as to whether it's a devfs vnode or a UFS vnode. I can't remember the exact problem but it may have something to do with using it as a methid aof getting to teh strategy routine..
