Yeah, so much for writing code without compiling it :)

From ata-all.h:

#define         ATA_C_ATAPI_IDENTIFY    0xa1    /* get ATAPI params*/

That makes it difficult to support that drive :), but I think there 
must be some other reason it fails, hmmm...
