Yes, the new 3.1 RELEASE requires a two disk boot when using the standard 1.44 FDD Go to ftp://ftp3.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/3.1-RELEASE/floppies/ Read README.TXT then get kern.flp and mfsroot.flp.
