Hi,
i ust finished reading through both freeBSD install previews
and i followed all the instructions that and im still having
problems..
i believe im useing 3.3 but am trying to get the new 4.0 anywas ...
i do everything as described in both your installs. and when i reboot
first of all it can't load the kernel.
and after i finally get into the system theres no login prompt theres
nothing
after the dmesg it just says :
unable to find /etc/rc
enter complete path to shell {press enter for default /bin/sh}
after that i have no other option to use sh... uugh
then when i get into that theres nothing in the /usr dir and my 13 gig
hdd isn't monted (it should be mounted on /usr) i try the mount command
and it cannot find a valid block device.
non of my ports are installed... and no editor not even vi.. btw no
other medium will mount eather i tryed to mount cdrom and nothing..
any suggestions...
thx
jon
Thxix.
