When trying to clear down an interface in this case igb1 I usually
just use:-
ifconfig <if> down delete

This seems to fail when ipv6 is enabled on 8.2-RELEASE where I get
ifconfig igb1 down delete
ifconfig: ioctl (SIOCDIFADDR): Can't assign requested address

This a bug?

    Regards
    Steve
