I am not a genius with computers but know my way round the motherboard. I am running Windows XP (UK) and have no sound at all. I believe my sound card is the same if not similar to the one you have posted a patch for on the link below: _http://lists.freebsd.org/pipermail/freebsd-bugs/2003-July/001564.html_ (http://lists.freebsd.org/pipermail/freebsd-bugs/2003-July/001564.html) I think I need the software driver. In device manager, "Multimedia Audio Controller" which I assume has something to do with the sound card flags a problem, when I go into it it has no driver installed. Am I correct in saying that the correct sound driver would possibly solve the problem? Thanks for any help. Dan
