Hello, Pat C. here again... I installed the X configuration files from the Distributions menu item under sysinstall. I chose the graphical configuration tool, and was able to configure mouse, keyboard, monitor (Super VGA), but I got an error when I tried to configure the S3 card. There was a message saying abort, and reinstall the SVGA server, instead of the S3 server. Fine, I did so. I know I have an S3 card, but don't know anything else re: the card. So when I tried to start the X-window server, I got an error message saying unable to start the server, reconfigure. When I did so again, and set video for 800X 600, 8 bit color, the system locked. Since I had to re-start without a clean shutdown , I ran fsck after re-start. I entered the command: /stand/sysinstall. Suggestions, please?
