i'm having a little trouble with my X windows system, perhaps someone can shed some light. everything seems to boot properly and everything _functions_ more or less like it should, however no images are displayed, no icons, even widgets like scrollbars, buttons, etc don't appear. if you click on them where they should be, they function as they should, they just don't show up. window frames and the KDE function bars appear, but nothing on them does, drop down menus work fine, but to avoid endlessly peering into little grey bars trying to recall where the buttons were when i could actually get X to work, i hope someone can offer some help. also, when using any KDE text field style entry (ie. "execute command"), the letter aren't visible but are replaced by vertical bars (like "|| | ||| |||| | |"). any help would be much appriciated. peace, brian t h e S a d M a c h i n e . o r g To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
