I posted this to USNET but perhaps someone here has an answer. I have just installed FreeBSD 2.1.5 and am very unhappy. For some reason my 3C509 Combo card or the netwoking in general, simply quits. Everything starts out fine but if I try to ftp anything bigger than a few bytes, the networking craps out. Ftp dies and telnet, ping, etc. stop working. There are no error messages and all the daemons seem to be running. Only a reboot fixes it. All the same stuff I use with 2.1 is in the 2.1.5 kernel. It's very perplexing. Oh yes, one thing I didn't mention in my other post: ping localhost stops responding as well. It is apparently a complete networking failure (probably caused by the card). This card in this same machine will run: Win 3.1x Win NT 3.51 Win NT 4.0 Win95 FreeBSD 2.1.0 But *NOT* 2.1.5 Any ideas?
