A dedicated device is inherently easier to troubleshoot and to replace if it comes to that than dealing with the problems of a kitchen-sink rubegoldberg apparatus. Eventually one of the three component devices fails. This is inevitable. And when one goes often one or both of the other two are rendered unusable as well even though technically they may still function. Then one is faced with replacing three devices at once. And the replacement will no doubt be different and have different OS and driver limitations for each of the three components. Dealing with which all takes time. >From a resource consumption POV multifunction devices only have use in an environment where acquisition cost and perhaps space constraints are greater considerations than support labour costs. -- *** e-Mail is NOT a SECURE channel *** Do NOT transmit sensitive data via e-Mail Do NOT open attachments nor follow links sent by e-Mail James B.
