I can't seem to find anything specific in any of the FAQs I've read, so I'm going to try here... Does FreeBSD 2.0 support ATAPI/IDE CDs or not? I recently bought the FreeBSD CDrom from WC and am trying to install it on an AcerPower Pentium 60 (the 8879? model) with a Mitsumi IDE CD. I don't see anywhere in the startup files that it can support that drive. Is it possible to pull certain parts of it off to my DOS slice (bin, compilers, and source, I suppose), install them and build a new kernel to handle the drive, or I am just basically out of luck with the drive? Steve PS: Sorry I'm not more up on my PC jargon, but I work with "real" machines (Suns and SGIs) on a regular basis. PCs are a new hobby I'm starting on, and I want a real OS (FreeBSD or Linux or both...) instead of just DOS/Windoze. -- Stephen P Potter spp@vx.com Varimetrix Corporation 2350 Commerce Park Drive, Suite 4 Palm Bay, FL 32905 (407) 676-3222 CAD/CAM/CAE/Software
