I you can take some good news on this matter, I've been running the following, with the `pre-fixed' 2.2R source, for about 48 hours with one intentional reboot. ahc0 <Adaptec 2940 Ultra SCSI host adapter> rev 0 int a irq 11 on pci0:19 ahc0: aic7880 Wide Channel, SCSI Id=7, 16/255 SCBs ahc0: target 0 Tagged Queuing Device (ahc0:0:0): "SEAGATE ST31055W 0528" type 0 fixed SCSI 2 sd0(ahc0:0:0): Direct-Access 1010MB (2069860 512 byte sectors) (ahc0:4:0): "CONNER CTT8000-S 1.17" type 1 removable SCSI 2 st0(ahc0:4:0): Sequential-Access density code 0x45, drive empty The Adaptec is set to negotiate wide with all ids. My kernel config includes, options AHC_TAGENABLE options AHC_SCBPAGING_ENABLE options AHC_ALLOW_MEMIO Granted it's not getting the workout of a news server but the SCSI HW is all new so I've been playing. :-) I've dumped the drive twice and used the tape to transfer a couple of hundred megs from IDE to the drive and about 300 from work onto the IDE. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jack O'Neill Finger jacko@diamond.xtalwind.net or jack@xtalwind.net http://www.xtalwind.net/~jacko/pubpgp.html #include <std_disclaimers.h> for my PGP key.
