My apologies if that was a FAQ. Hmm, now I know (thanks to indiscriminate use of grep ;-) that /usr/ports/Mk/bsd.port.mk contains the central build targets. For the record make all-depends-list seems to print a more concise list of dependent ports, and works even after port installation ( fetch-recursive-list doesn't).
