No. The code that produces the web pages should be fixed to use the <blockquote cite=""> tag that is already there to do the right thing, rather than depending on authors to add redundant information. The process of creating these vuxml entries is absurdly complex, and if we have an expectation that run of the mill developers (as opposed to those who work with this stuff on a regular basis) are going to get these done, and get them done right, it has to be simpler. Not only have I done many of these, I've even attempted to update the documentation in TPH, and apparently I'm still getting them wrong. Given that I'm actually making an effort to understand the process and get it done right, and given the overwhelming number of times that $someone follows up to vuxml entries with advice on how they should be changed, and given the number of times that certain people have followed up with wrong/bad advice, it's pretty clear that we have a process problem here. I can see 2 ways out of this mess. One would be to change the back-end code to be more forgiving as I suggested above. The preferable solution would be for someone to write a script that allows users to input the various pieces of data, and then outputs the proper XML. Something similar to http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/monthly.cgi would do nicely. It's incredibly discouraging to go through the work of creating these entries only to constantly have them be wrong. At this point I'm seriously considering just not doing them anymore, and letting the ports-security@ team handle it if they feel it's important.
