This is a Full Duplex card which connects, via UTP, to a Kalpana Etherswitch running in full duplex mode. Transfer rates are of the order of 10 Kbyte/sec. I would expect it to be at least 450 Kbyte/sec, as I can achieve that with a 16 bit ISA bus SMC 8013EPC. Has anyone used the SMC EtherPower successfully together with the `de' device driver (for the Digital Equipment DC21040)? Is the `de' device driver capable of driving the SMC EtherPower in full duplex mode? The samba file server is a pentium running FreeBSD 2.1-STABLE.
