The port is based upon an old CVS snapshot from 2004. I created the port, because the CVS code of duke3d failed to compile under freebsd. But the guys at icculus integrated a patchset I sent them directly into the CVS repository. Thus the CVS code will compile fine under freebsd. Users should rather grab a cvs snapshot and build it themselves rather than to install this port. Icculus hasn't come up with an oficial release anyway, because the code is not very stable/fast. A replacement for this port has already been submitted: ports/85347 ports/85348 If you want to add a DEPRECATED notice rather than removing the port, please use this text as a template: "This port is based on an old CVS snapshot from the icculus.org duke3d\n\ repository. In the meanwhile FreeBSD support has been added. If you want\n\ to compile the duke3d CVS code, please follow the instructions on this website\n\ in order to grab a CVS snapshot:\n\ \n\ http://www.icculus.org/duke3d/\n\ \n\ In order to compile the code you need to type `gmake freebsd=true` instead of\n\ `make`." Thx. >How-To-Repeat: >Fix: >Release-Note: >Audit-Trail: >Unformatted:
