Although I'm not positive, I don't think you can use "-j32" (or -janything) while running make release. It looks like you're running into syncronization problems (ie it's probably trying to create /stage/trees/bin before it can create /stage, etc). I've never run make release before myself, but since snapshots have still been showing up on the FTP sites, I don't think making a release is broken.
