Hi,

I've had this problem if there is a firewall between you and the
box you're connecting to, and if the firewall does not permit
'ident' (UDP port 113 if I remember correctly).

Maybe this is your problem?

Patrick.

I have an odd problem...

Sometimes when I ssh into my freebsd box it connects immediately... on
other occasions (like now) it takes ages... and then times out.

There is no traffic on my network... anyone have any ideas as to what's
causing this delay?
