I fully agree and I prepared that change already:
https://gitlab.fechner.net/mfechner/Gitlab/commit/eecee886cd5dada4b5c8756=
0e21b7818aa1422d2

But I cannot commit it, as pkg does not respect CONFLICTS_INSTALL:
https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=3D225309
https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=3D234807

If I would commit this and the user has installed e.g. gitolite, gogs or
gitosis these applications will overwrite data each other and will bring
the complete installation into a completely broken state.
User will not be able to access repositories anymore which would be a
complete disaster.

So I think it is understandable that I cannot change this yet.
But doing changes that are breaking gitlab I think is also not the right
solution.
We should try to find a way we can implement all the changes required to
do this kind of change transition.

If anyone has an idea how to fix this problem, I'm completely open.
