That's not how it works, I'm afraid, except in the case of those ports that have a maintainer set to "ports@FreeBSD.org" (ie: no-one) See http://www.freebsd.org/porters-handbook/port-upgrading.html Please everybody.. do check with the maintainer first, and if you're the maintainer of a port update, mention it somewhere in the PR Maintainer-generated (or -approved) patches do tend to get fast-tracked.
