I think the issue is now described by the second paragraph: The bhyve design requires a processor that supports Intel=C2=AE Extended Pa= ge Tables (EPT) or AMD=C2=AE Rapid Virtualization Indexing (RVI) or Nested Page Table= s (NPT). Hosting Linux=C2=AE guests or FreeBSD guests with more than one vCPU requir= es VMX unrestricted mode support (UG). Most newer processors, specifically the Int= el=C2=AE Core=E2=84=A2 i3/i5/i7 and Intel=C2=AE Xeon=E2=84=A2 E3/E5/E7, support thes= e features. UG support was introduced with Intel's Westmere micro-architecture. For a complete lis= t of Intel=C2=AE processors that support EPT, refer to http://ark.intel.com/search/advanced?s=3Dt&ExtendedPageTables=3Dtrue. RVI i= s found on the third generation and later of the AMD Opteron=E2=84=A2 (Barcelona) p= rocessors. The easiest way to tell if a processor supports bhyve is to run dmesg or lo= ok in /var/run/dmesg.boot for the POPCNT processor feature flag on the Feature= s2 line for AMD=C2=AE processors or EPT and UG on the VT-x line for Intel=C2= =AE processors. --=20 You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.=
