The following reply was made to PR ports/103683; it has been noted by GNATS. From: "Kevin Oberman" <oberman@es.net> To: Rainer Alves <rainer.alves@gmail.com> Cc: bug-followup@FreeBSD.org Subject: Re: ports/103683: multimedia/dvdrip - Problems with lack of threading library Date: Thu, 28 Sep 2006 11:02:18 -0700 --==_Exmh_1159466538_61032P Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Disposition: inline Rainer, I have now confirmed that dvdrip 0.98.1 runs correctly as long as I have LD_PRELOAD defined as /usr/lib/libpthread.so. I suspect that your window or session manager is already linked to a threading library and that this is why it works for you. I'm unsure how best to handle this for Perl scripts which happen to call routines wish use threading. Maybe I should ask about this on some FreeBSD list (I guess I'll start on questions, although the folks most likely to have an answer don't spend much time there. -- R.
