No, I do not get the crash running uni processor. My motherboard supports monitoring temperature etc. According to specs by cpus and mainboard all stay way below the max temperature allowed, and all voltages are well within their limits. (33c for mainboard, 50-55c for cpus, +5.1v, -5.0v, +12.2v, -11.8v) hmm... how well is this smbus and io stuff tested with smp? ;-) Heat problems and power supply instability were the first 2 things to look at for me since this system has quite a lot of hardware in it and is slightly overclocked. Removing all but the bare minimum to run and running at the official clock speed shows the same problem) Bart van Leeuwen ----------------------------------------------------------- mailto:bart@ixori.demon.nl - http://www.ixori.demon.nl/ ----------------------------------------------------------- On Mon, 27 Mar 2000, Neil Blakey-Milner wrote: > On Mon 2000-03-27 (17:22), Bart van Leeuwen wrote: > > Just to let you know that I eliminated the mmx assembler stuff from mesa > > and that I can still 'freeze' my system. > > Do you get the crash while running uni-processor? > > It may just be a heat problem too. > > Neil > -- > Neil Blakey-Milner > nbm@rucus.ru.ac.za > To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-smp" in the body of the message
