I haven't followed this forum much lately, so apologies if this has appeared before, but I found Gene Mosher's column in NC World and his move to Open Source software fascinating. http://www.ncworldmag.com/ncw-05-1998/ncw-05-genesplicer.html?0601 He brings up a point about the lack of focus on network computing in the Linux and FreeBSD camps that makes a lot of sense in that it would seem to be an ideal use for an OS such as fbsd.
