moused_enable="YES"     # Run the mouse daemon.

which results in:
# ps -ax|grep moused

moused -p /dev/psm0 -t auto

with:

Section "Pointer"

in /etc/XF86Config and
lrwxr-xr-x  1 root  wheel  13 Jan 29 22:38 /dev/mouse -> /dev/sysmouse
in /dev

Works fine for me.
