This would cover the "theory" as well as the commands/utilities necessary. fdisk, disklabel, newfs, etc should all be included. Also valuable to cover would be partitioning, standard partition names, sizes, uses, etc. All of this stuff is VERY confusing for the new user. I've had to add a HD a couple of times and found it very confusing. There's lots of incorrect and/or conflicting info out there.
