The hardware is dual-pIII 800MHz with 512 megs of ECC ram. I'm running it without SMP since that makes it crash every day. It has been doing so since last February. I thought this might have been fixed in the future releases I didn't pay it much heed (running 5.2.1 currently) but it seems that nothing has changed in the last 6 months or so... There's nothing on any logs, and I cannot get to the console due the fact that I happen to live the other side of the world currently :) The crashes seem to happen during high load/io-load. I can go thru buildworld but sometimes it cannot get thru that even. Definetly portsdb -Uu crahes it in the very end or updating locatedb. It seems that I also cannot get any kernel dumps after crashes, there's only the following message on logs: Sep 1 20:42:19 Sammael kernel: dumpon: Sep 1 20:42:19 Sammael kernel: ioctl(DIOCSKERNELDUMP) Sep 1 20:42:19 Sammael kernel: : Sep 1 20:42:19 Sammael kernel: Operation not supported by device Maybe the Mylex raid controller is not applicable dump device. I can maybe resize one of the ide drivers from the console to get a dump. But anyways, I'd really would appreciate some help here.
