Ok, I had to add a "\n" to the printf, so it got flushed out properly. fprintf(stderr,"Here !\n"); I can see now that it get's printed. If I remove the throw, OO.org does not crash anymore. OUString sDetectorDecision; try { sDetectorDecision = xDetector->detect( seqDescriptor ); } catch ( ... ) { fprintf(stderr,"Here !\n"); } I get then a requester window where I can choose a fileformat.
