[Note: I'm not subscribed to this mailing list so please Cc my email address on any responses] I got smbfs capability working on my 4.3-STABLE box by adding the LIBICONV kernel option and installing the smbfs port. Looking at LINT, I see two other kernel options that look like they might be related to smbfs: options NETSMB #SMB/CIFS requester options NETSMBCRYPTO #encrypted password support for SMB I can read the comments but they don't really appear to be necessary, since I was actually able to mount SMB shares without these two options.
