I've memorized that one shouldn't use soft-updates on / RSE's excellent howto on setting up a pair of mirrored disks (http://people.freebsd.org/~rse/mirror/) includes this line newfs -U /dev/mirror/gm0s1a which enables softupdates. Is this not quite correct, or am I missing something? Thanks, g.
