Along those same lines, is there a way to get a visual display of what the modem is doing? I've got my FreeBSD machine in a corner of the bedroom. Kinda wakes up my wife (and me, sometimes) when it decides it needs to connect to the outside world (like when I'm browsing from a machine elsewhere in the house).
