Which version of GCC supports -stdlib= flag?

$ echo 'int main() {}' >a.cc
$ gcc42 -stdlib=libstdc++ a.cc
cc1plus: error: unrecognized command line option "-stdlib=libstdc++"
$ gcc9 -stdlib=libstdc++ a.cc
gcc9: error: unrecognized command line option '-stdlib=libstdc++'; did you mean '-static-libstdc++'?
