From: RandomUser To: bug-followup@FreeBSD.org, rannumgen@globaleyes.net Cc: Subject: Re: ports/125324: editors/the (3.2) looses cursor when compiled with PDCurses-3.3 Date: Thu, 19 Feb 2009 18:13:35 -0600 This is a multi-part message in MIME format. --------------050404070002050602080104 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit The attached not was sent to Mark Hessling, THE editor author. It appears that THE-3B3 includes a change that breaks with REXX-1.76. I have not received any response yet. Prior versions of THE do not exhibit this problem. The testing that I have done shows that PDCurses-3.3/-3.4 both break the cursor handling in THE-3.1/-3.2, making the X11 version of THE practically useless. At this point, without doing an exhaustive debugging of THE and PDCurses, I would say that the problem with THE & PDCurses belongs in the PDCurses camp. I would also say that THE-3.B3 is not ready for release. Therefore - THE should be frozen at v3.2 until further notice. --------------050404070002050602080104 Content-Type: application/x-message-display; name="THE-3.3B3 compile fails on Solaris-10-sparc.eml" Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64 Content-Disposition: inline; filename="THE-3.3B3 compile fails on Solaris-10-sparc.eml" PGh0bWw+DQo8aGVhZD4NCjx0aXRsZT5USEUtMy4zQjMgY29tcGlsZSBmYWlscyBvbiBTb2xh cmlzLTEwLXNwYXJjPC90aXRsZT4NCjxsaW5rIHJlbD0iaW1wb3J0YW50IHN0eWxlc2hlZXQi IGhyZWY9ImNocm9tZTovL21lc3Nlbmdlci9za2luL21lc3NhZ2VCb2R5LmNzcyI+DQo8L2hl YWQ+DQo8Ym9keT4NCjx0YWJsZSBib3JkZXI9MCBjZWxsc3BhY2luZz0wIGNlbGxwYWRkaW5n PTAgd2lkdGg9IjEwMCUiIGNsYXNzPSJoZWFkZXItcGFydDEiPjx0cj48dGQ+PGRpdiBjbGFz cz0iaGVhZGVyZGlzcGxheW5hbWUiIHN0eWxlPSJkaXNwbGF5OmlubGluZTsiPlN1YmplY3Q6 IDwvZGl2PlRIRS0zLjNCMyBjb21waWxlIGZhaWxzIG9uIFNvbGFyaXMtMTAtc3BhcmM8L3Rk PjwvdHI+PHRyPjx0ZD48ZGl2IGNsYXNzPSJoZWFkZXJkaXNwbGF5bmFtZSIgc3R5bGU9ImRp c3BsYXk6aW5saW5lOyI+RnJvbTogPC9kaXY+SmltIER1dHRvbiAmbHQ7bGVmdGZvb3RAc2l1 LmVkdSZndDs8L3RkPjwvdHI+PHRyPjx0ZD48ZGl2IGNsYXNzPSJoZWFkZXJkaXNwbGF5bmFt ZSIgc3R5bGU9ImRpc3BsYXk6aW5saW5lOyI+RGF0ZTogPC9kaXY+VGh1LCAyMiBKYW4gMjAw OSAxMjowNDoxNSAtMDYwMDwvdGQ+PC90cj48L3RhYmxlPjx0YWJsZSBib3JkZXI9MCBjZWxs c3BhY2luZz0wIGNlbGxwYWRkaW5nPTAgd2lkdGg9IjEwMCUiIGNsYXNzPSJoZWFkZXItcGFy dDIiPjx0cj48dGQ+PGRpdiBjbGFzcz0iaGVhZGVyZGlzcGxheW5hbWUiIHN0eWxlPSJkaXNw bGF5OmlubGluZTsiPlRvOiA8L2Rpdj5NLkhlc3NsaW5nQHF1dC5lZHUuYXU8L3RkPjwvdHI+ PC90YWJsZT48YnI+DQo8ZGl2IGNsYXNzPSJtb3otdGV4dC1wbGFpbiIgd3JhcD10cnVlIGdy YXBoaWNhbC1xdW90ZT10cnVlIHN0eWxlPSJmb250LWZhbWlseTogLW1vei1maXhlZDsgZm9u dC1zaXplOiAxMnB4OyIgbGFuZz0ieC13ZXN0ZXJuIj48cHJlIHdyYXA+VEhFLTNCMyBpbmNs dWRlcyBhICJSZXh4U2V0SGFsdCIgbWFjcm8vZnVuY3Rpb24gY2FsbCB0aGF0IGlzIGVuZGVt aWMgdG8KUmVnaW5hIFJFWFggKFYzLjMpIGFuZCBtaXNzaW5nIGZyb20gUkVYWC1JTUMgKFYx LjcuNikgUkVYWDoKCgpVbmRlZmluZWQgICAgICAgICAgICAgICAgICAgICAgIGZpcnN0IHJl ZmVyZW5jZWQKIHN5bWJvbCAgICAgICAgICAgICAgICAgICAgICAgICAgICAgaW4gZmlsZQpS ZXh4U2V0SGFsdCAgICAgICAgICAgICAgICAgICAgICAgICByZXh4Lm8KbGQ6IGZhdGFsOiBT eW1ib2wgcmVmZXJlbmNpbmcgZXJyb3JzLiBObyBvdXRwdXQgd3JpdHRlbiB0byB4dGhlCmNv bGxlY3QyOiBsZCByZXR1cm5lZCAxIGV4aXQgc3RhdHVzCgovcm9vdDogcHdkCi92YXIvc3Rh Z2UvcmV4eC1pbWMtMS43Ni1zcGFyYy1zb2xhcmlzCi9yb290OiBncmVwIFJleHhTZXRIYWx0 ICoKL3Jvb3Q6Ci9yb290OiBlY2hvICQ/CjEKCgpPbiBhIHNlY29uZCBub3RlLCB3aXRoIFJF WFgtSU1DIDMyYml0IGFuZCBQREN1cnNlcyAzMmJpdCBsaWJyYXJpZXMsClRIRS0zQjMyIGZv ciBTb2xhcmlzLTEwLXNwYXJjIG5vdyByZXF1aXJlcyAiLS1lbmFibGUtMzJiaXQiLiBPdGhl cndpc2UsCnRoZSAiLW02NCIgZmxhZyBpcyB1c2VkIGJ5IGRlZmF1bHQgd2hpY2ggY2F1c2Vz IHRoZSBsYXN0LXN0YWdlIGxpbmtpbmcKdG8gZmFpbCAoZWc7IDY0Yml0IFRIRSB2ZXJzdXMg MzJiaXQgUkVYWC9QREN1cnNlcykuCgo8L3ByZT48L2Rpdj48L2JvZHk+DQo8L2h0bWw+DQo= --------------050404070002050602080104--
