I hope someone writes a good driver as a solution. Perhaps someone already did and I just can't find it. I know the rear channel works as the card works fine in Microsoft Windows. I don't get any of the static or ticking noises you're talking about when I play MP3's but all my base comes from the rear channel and it's like listening to the radio instead of a cd/mp3. :) Please let me know if anyone finds an appropriate driver or device to get the rear channel working.
