No. If you have done that, your home directory will be '/' after ftp-login,
and you'll have a hard time escaping this directory sub tree.

BTW, many commands like ``ls'' won't work if they are not in your
sub-tree, i. e. you'll need a bin directory in every home directory
of your users. Symlinks outside your tree won't work either!
