It was an hwpstate error message concerning setting the frequency of my AMD FX 8120 CPU. Ian Stewart seemed especially interested. I find that by enabling the HPC option in my BIOS [high performance computing] that the messages stop appearing. I have confirmed it with dmesg. Thanks for your interest.
