My one problem I've not been able to solve is this - after rebuilding the kernel, I cannot get it to come up on the network. I initially pulled a lot of things out, but even with a default kernel now, it seems to be flakey. The interface itself is present, but it shows "no carrier" as the status. I can't seem to find anything else that's wrong. Of course, I have a solid link light. :) nightcrawler# uname -a FreeBSD nightcrawler 5.1-CURRENT FreeBSD 5.1-CURRENT #0: Fri Dec 12 19:14:30 EST 2003 root@nightcrawler:/usr/obj/usr/src/sys/GENERIC sparc64 nightcrawler# dmesg | grep gem0 gem0: mem 0xe0440000-0xe045ffff irq 28 at device 5.1 on pci1 miibus0: on gem0 gem0: Ethernet address: 00:03:ba:05:16:d8, 2KB RX fifo, 2KB TX fifo nightcrawler# ifconfig gem0 gem0: flags=8843 mtu 1500 inet 10.10.5.38 netmask 0xffffff00 broadcast 10.10.5.255 inet6 fe80::203:baff:fe05:16d8%gem0 prefixlen 64 scopeid 0x1 ether 00:03:ba:05:16:d8 media: Ethernet autoselect (none) status: no carrier
