As bernhard said, they do it at poweron. Enterprise products do it via other means- eg having a second nic to do sca= nning, oe having enough overlapping channel APs to just scan a lot of chann= els by occupying a lot of channels. :) But yes, that's one feature that I intended with the survey support. It jus= t doesn't do a survey check whilst scanning atm. Sent from my Palm Pre on AT&T On Apr 29, 2012 6:30 AM, Lev Serebryakov <lev@freebsd.org> wrote:=20 Hello, Freebsd-wireless. Is it possible to implement automatic channel selection by AP, with ath driver? Some SOHO routers have such functionality. I mean, that card could monitor channels activity like new "athsurvey" tool does, say, one per minute, and switch to channel which was least busy for, say, last 10 minutes. It should not switch more often tan same 10 minutes (all configurable) in any case. It seems, that in my environment, channels' occupation depends on time of day very much, and what is good for morning is not so good for night. --=20 // Black Lion AKA Lev Serebryakov <lev@FreeBSD.org> _______________________________________________ freebsd-wireless@freebsd.org mailing list http://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/listinfo/freebsd-wireless To unsubscribe, send any mail to "freebsd-wireless-unsubscribe@freebsd.org"
