I was so enthused with the results that I decided to upgrade the system. I have tried everything, but the installation hangs completely at the end of the initial kernel configuration when the sysinstall screen displays, no keyboard response whatsoever. I have a new motherboard, CPU, & HDD. The motherboard is an Abit SM5 with the Intel 430 VX chipset. The CPU is a Pentium S 200 mhz 64mb of EDO ram Seagate 2.6 GB EIDE hard disk running off the on board controller. I have tried installing on a pristine (low level formatted) disk, disk with small DOS partition and no other partitions etc. etc. and installing from a boot floppy and the CD ROM the result is always the same - when I reach the sysinstall menu after resolving and the IRQ conflicts etc. there is no response to the keyboard. Any suggestions as to what might be wrong or how I could go about resolving it? Any help you can offer would be seriously appreciated. Richard Bence richard@benctek.com
