Nearest doesn't equate to fastest if that is of importance. If faster is a
concern, you will be rewarded by doing a traceroute on each of the mirrors
for hops and total time. I have found some that don't even connect while
others are rock reliable.

BTW, I like "MTR" from the ports in place of traceroute... it gives live
stats.
