Synopsis: Recently updated x11/gdm port ignores $LANG setting in /etc/login.conf State-Changed-From-To: open->analyzed State-Changed-By: marcus State-Changed-When: Sat Feb 9 16:33:37 UTC 2008 State-Changed-Why: This is true, and it doesn't look like it will be fixed any time soon given that gdm 2.22 will be a rewrite. However, there is a very easy workaround. Add the following to ~/.profile: GDM_LANG=de_DE.ISO8859-15 ; export GDM_LANG That will set your locale accordingly when you login through GDM. http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/query-pr.cgi?pr=117724
