One is the internal PATA (AHCI) drive. The other is a USB drive. I would like to enable S.M.A.R.T. checking on both, but the USB device (-d) needs to be included in the command (i.e. "-d sat"). I have not been able to figure out how to set up periodic(8) to work with a device option for one drive but not the other. Is this possible without a kludge of some sort or mods to the periodic/smart script? -- Kevin Oberman, Part time kid herder and retired Network Engineer E-mail: rkoberman@gmail.com PGP Fingerprint: D03FB98AFA78E3B78C1694B318AB39EF1B055683
