Howdy,

In order to keep /etc/rc.d up to date, it was frequently recommended to 
do 'rm /etc/rc.d/* ; mergemaster -i'. As of 4 January this year it's not 
only no longer necessary to do that, it's not a good idea to do it. 
mergemaster now notifies you of stale files in /etc/rc.d, but the part 
of the script that does that will do funny things if you remove all the 
files first.
