The partition is already gone, but I had tried that several times anyways. I tried from the floppy and from the HD.. It did the same thing each time. FreeBSD was on a 515MB HD with 1048 cylinders.. I tried it with LBA mode on and off. The FreeBSD partitions were at the front of the disk, so being past cylinder 1024 shouldn't have been a problem. This is how I have things layed out: HD0 is a Western Digital AC2250F 250M HD. CHS=1010/9/55 HD1 is a Western Digital AC2540H 515M HD. CHS=1048/16/63 With LBA off CHS=524/32/63 with LBA on. > You don't say what else is on the disk, if anything. Linux and Win95 used to be, but I wiped those out when I installed FreeBSD. Thanks, Dave
