 In order to solve this problem, remove the broken docbook-xml-4.2_1.  
 docbook-xml-4.4 works just fine.
 
 The older docbook ports are fundamentally broken in many ways, not the 
 least of which is your inability to delete them.  I used the following 
 steps:
 
 pkg_delete -f docbook-xml-4.2_1
 rm -rf /usr/local/share/xml/docbook/4.2_1
 vi /usr/local/share/xml/catalog.ports
